Unlike previous years, celebrations have been restricted to virtual mediums this year. Keeping in mind the safety of all, BVP Balewadi celebrated 74th independence Day of India in the presence of minimum number of teachers and other staff by putting in place adequate safety measures and following social distancing on 15 th August. Our Principal Mrs. Bhavana Rai hoisted the National Flag in the premises followed by flag song and national Anthem. But the patriotism filled in heart couldn't refrain themselves from varied activities. For the same on 13, various activities were assigned for different class groups. Std 1& 2 were assigned to draw emblems of India whereas 3rd, 4th and 5th enacted as real heroes of India. Similarly std 6 th to 8 th took part in dance performance and singing song competition on patriotism. Students of Std.9 showcased drama to salute great men of India. Std 10, 11 and 12 represented Indian Ethnic wear design group activity, Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat means Self dependent India respectively through multiple ideas and presentation. To salute those great men and celebrate the joy of freedom, Bharati Vidyapeeeth conducted spectacular tri-colour activities.

May this Freedom of thoughts and deeds prevail forever!

Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi, is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister. BVP, Balewadi students, during this pandemic celebrated it differently and developed a special bond towards the saviors of their country. To mark this students made Rakhis for soldiers doctors, nurses and policemen of the society. Std 9 and 10 th students took initiative to prepare mask and donated it to community helpers. Children also wrote slogans and quotes for brave hearts as well as on special bonding of historic siblings. All in all, the celebration of this festival, which signifies the beautiful family bond of trust and protection, helped the students to nurture a healthy relationship amongst their neighbourhood and develops a sense of responsibility.

Dressing up babies as Krishna and Gopis on Janmashtami festival is a popular Hindu tradition. It marks the birth of lord Krishna. BVP Balewadi Pre- primary kids also attired themselves as Radha and Krishna and their mothers as MA Yashoda. Children took part in various virtual class activities like narration of shlokas from Holy Bhagvad Gita, as well as songs and stories on Krishna’s life, preparation of Prasad. Many of them also wrote messages on Peacock Feather one of the important accessories of lord. On this auspicious day, we prayed to Lord Krishna to illuminate our life with strength and will power to overcome the period of crisis and soon would awaken in a healed and peaceful world."

Ashadi Ekadashi, an important event for the state of Maharashtra as a religious procession of Warkaris travels to Pandharpur to pay respects to Lord Vitthal. Caught up in the unforseen trap of Covid 19, which has made our life and activities come to a standstill. But we need to still continue treasuring our time and most importantly our culture.

The International Yoga Day that is celebrated on 21st June used to be a large gathering every year but this time due to Covid 19 guidelines of social distancing have changed the way this event is executed.

Yoga the ideal fitness regimen while staying at home during this pandemic was planned & conducted by BVP Balewadi. It was geared up with

"Yoga at Home, Yoga with Family".Prasar Bharati took the initiative to telecast the common Yoga protocol of DD Bharati from 8 in the morning since June 11.

Entire Bharati Balewadi team lend their hands to adopt the theme in the event on 21st June, International Yoga Day with fuse of enthusiasm along with students & their family members.

Keeping the students’ interest as priority and following the guidelines of CBSE strictly, E-school was started in the beginning of the new session 2020-21. Along with online teaching of the Academics, CCA and ECA were conducted during Lockdown, for the holistic development of the children. Students under the supervision of the teachers actively participated in many activities.

Safer Use of Internet : On 11th February 2020, the school celebrated Safer Internet Day, to highlight the importance of safer use of internet. Students were educated with the fact that they should use internet responsibly, i.e. they should observe TIME LIMITS while using any technology and visit AGE APPROPRIATE SITES, AVOID MISUSING PERSONAL DATA OF OTHERS, USE TECHNOLOGY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPMENT and USE ONLINE DATA FOR INFORMATION WITH YOUR INNOVATIVE IDEAS. Students actively participated in the message writing competition on this day, to propagate the message use internet safely.

14 November 2019 : Children’s Day Celebrations

The birth anniversary of first prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru was celebrated as children’s day in the school. Celebration began with a prayer offered by Principal Ma’am to Chaha Nehru by lighting lamp and with garland, followed by morning assembly service, conducted by teachers. It was followed by a group song ( Ms. Ketki and group), solo song by Mr. Ganesh, Dance drama ( Ms. Kavita and group ) and speech by Mr. Abhinandan. The entire show was stolen by teacher’s mind blowing performances. It was a fun-filled day for the students especially for the students of Std. 10th and 12th for whom “eat out biscuit” competition was arranged, where 5 children were declared winners for eating maximum no. of biscuits just in 1 min. . Our beloved Principal Ma’am Mrs. Bhavana Rai addressed the children and encouraged them to dream big and work hard and wished them best of luck for all their future plans. Finally at the end vote of thanks was given Ms. Poonam, Primary co-ordinator of our School .

On 14th July 2019, the students of BVP Balewadi took the wonderful opportunity of presenting the traditional Palkhi. The students of grade one to ten came to school dressed up as warkaries carrying saffron flags, palkhis of Sant Tukaram and Tulsi saplings. The event was brought to existence to sensitize young minds with traditional integrity amongst each other and also give a message of social awareness and feeling of oneness. The soothing bhajans and songs mesmerized the whole school campus.

On 27th July 2019, the auspicious day of Guru Poornima was celebrated with great devotion. A special assembly was conducted, marked by floral tribute by teachers and students to Guru Veda Vyasa in ritualistic respect of guru puja. Speeches and Shlokas were read out from Gita and the puranas which highlighted the importance of Guru in our lives.

On the occasion of 72nd Independence Day, the school witnessed a national celebration with unprecedented patriotic fervor. The activities held on the campus consisted of special assembly, flag song, March past presided over by Principal Mam and speeches. Our beloved Principal mam hoisted the tricolor. The group song filled everyone with pure patriotism.

Sanskrit Day was celebrated in the school with active participation of all Sanskrit students from class 6 to 10. The day kicked off with the school assembly conducted in Sanskrit and a special mention –the Sanskrit song conducted by grade 6 students, followed by Subhashit, Shlok highlighting Indian origins to the language.

Bharati yet again in its thirst to inculcating Indian values in our children brought in Janmashtami celebrations with the message of joy, sharing and victory of good over evil with traditional aarti, bhajans, puja and Dahi Handi and finally the lipsmacking Prasad after the celebrations awaited by not only the children but all.

The school celebrated GhandhiJayanti with zeal and enthusiasm, where little students came dressed as Gandhiji. The celebrations ended with a thought in everybody’s mind that cleanliness is next to godliness and service to mankind is the first step towards reaching it.
